Food Service Supervisor, Canada | Work Visa Sponsorship

Duties

  • Inform staff of changes in food preparation formulas, standards, etc.
  • Maintain all local and national health and food safety codes and comply with the company’s policies on safety and security.
  • Follow the Subway® Operations Manual in maintaining orderly business records, including hourly recording of sales and wage costs and recording maintenance, repairs, stock usage, and wastes. Also, increase sales by analyzing business records.
  • Provide support for local and national marketing initiatives, and organize special events and promotions, including branded promotional and sales campaigns.
  • Identify and make contact with prospective customers to promote sales.
  • Oversee office maintenance, cleanliness, and security, organize stock and equipment, and order supplies
  • Set budgets, and work towards maximizing profits and achieving sales targets
  • Set up work schedules and procedures, and solve the problem of short-notice staff changes
  • Hire new team members, and ensure training and development of existing staff on safety and sanitation protocols
  • Maintain high-quality customer service, handling complaints and queries effectively
  • Make sure that reports and other performance analyses are documented
  • Carry out corporate social responsibility activities that align with the company’s values

Qualifications

  • A senior high school degree or equivalent (10+2)
  • Certification of completion of a community college program in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Food Service Administration, or a similar field, or several years of experience in food preparation or service
  • Up to 2 years of experience in Food Services Management or similar
  • Ability to work in various physical positions, like standing for a long time, sitting, lifting, crouching, walking, kneeling, and bending
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to provide coaching on safety and sanitation protocols
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction while motivating the team to do the same
  • Supervisee skills, with the ability to oversee between 5 to 7 staff members at once across different areas of the restaurant
  • Flexible time availability, including evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to migrate to work full-time in Canada
