Automotive Mechanic in Ontario, Canada | Work Visa Sponsorship

A client is currently looking for a qualified car technician to join them full-time. An individual with extensive knowledge of auto repair and the capacity for independence would be ideal. After one to two years of employment, assistance with obtaining permanent residency in Canada will be given.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing a range of hand and power tools that have been authorized by management, perform routine as well as scheduled maintenance on customer cars. 
  • Ensure on-site troubleshooting of mechanical problems with cars after delivery. 
  • Carry out overhauls, tune-ups for engines, etc.
  • Carry out tasks such as changing the oil, aligning the wheels and rotating the tires, and repairing clutches, axles, and drive lines without the guidance of a certified Automotive Technician. 
  • Replace damaged components (spark plugs, sensors, pads, etc.). 
  • Verify that the stop system and wheels are aligned properly. 
  • If the problems with the vehicle go beyond scope of knowledge, refer appropriately to a specialist and carry out a proper handover of the vehicle, to ensure a smooth transition.
  • If installation-related components are not easily accessible on-site, advise management of the need for procurement. 
  • Carry out all mechanical fixes thoroughly and correctly. 
  • Before handing the car over to the customers, a road inspection might be conducted.
  • May instruct new hires, as necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with other mechanics and technicians and ensure that every client receives excellent service. 

Qualifications

  • A diploma from a secondary school. A certificate of training is preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience working as an automobile mechanic
  • Knowledge of brake components, tire alignment, and engine tuning-ups – Suspension services expertise will be a huge plus!
  • Working knowledge of a variety of cars
  • Proficiency in the English language 

Benefits

  • This is a permanent full-time job!
  • The starting salary is $40,560.00 per year for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • The overtime rate is $39.00, starting after 44 hours per week.
