The recruiting company is bringing in foreign workers to fill the position of Welder in Ontario, Canada. The most qualified candidates will have in-depth knowledge of welding maintenance for tools and equipment used in the production, processing, and storage of food. To make sure that the company’s equipment is well-maintained and performs per corporate and industry standards, the candidate would need to work together with other team members. With prospects for promotion and a competitive benefits package, the company is prepared to train the right candidates and will assist them in obtaining Permanent Residence in Canada after one to two years of employment.
Responsibilities
- Study and understand the welding maintenance process requirements of the equipment on site.
- Use manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to join metal pieces together using a variety of techniques.
- Use metal shaping tools like brakes, shears, and other metal straightening and bending machines to repair worn-out machine parts.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting, brazing, and soldering equipment as needed.
- Plan and carry out weekly maintenance operations
- Conduct additional welding processes to guarantee that machinery operates as intended
- Before turning over to the responsible department, make sure all machines are in good working order.
- Have the capability to operate a variety of gear and equipment (arc, gas welding, soldering, etc.)
- Use various welding processes as needed (SMAW, GMAW, etc.)
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Good skills and knowledge of maintaining industrial gear
- At least two years of demonstrated maintenance welding experience
- It would be beneficial to have good knowledge of the food manufacturing and production industries.
- Demonstrated capacity to work in a hurried setting, notably on cold manufacturing floors
- Proficiency in the English language

- This is a full-time, permanent job that requires a minimum of 40 hours of work per week.
- Pay is $23.50 per hour, with overtime pay starting at 44 hours.
