Care Worker, Canada | Work Visa Sponsorship

A licensed recruitment agency in Nova Scotia seeks Continuing Care Assistants (CCA) who can offer passionate care to their clients. International applicants who are ready to immigrate to Canada, and meet the immigration requirements of NSPNP (Nova Scotia Provincial Nomination Program) or AIP (Atlantic Immigration Program), are welcome to apply. 

Duties

  • Provision of personal and bedside care, such as bedmaking, cleaning, bathing, dressing, and grooming, to patients or residents 
  • Respond to call signals, provide empty bed pans, make beds, assist with menu selection, serve meals, help feed patients if required, shave patients before surgery, oversee exercise and lifestyle routines, etc. 
  • Routinely weigh, lift, turn, and re-position patients.
  • Organize recreational activities for patients and accompany them to outdoor events.
  • Read and record patients’ vitals and their fluid intake and output. Also, monitor and report health status, provide first aid when needed, administer medications and collect specimens as directed by medical professionals.
  • Transport patients using a stretcher or wheelchair for treatment, surgery, and interfacility appointments/visits.
  • Facilitate delivery of messages, reports, requests, and specimens between units.
  • Perform inventory management 
  • Help with set-up, operation, maintenance, and repair of job-related equipment. 

Qualifications

  • Between 21 to 55 years of age, with a minimum of a high school diploma
  • Proof of language ability equivalent to the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 4 or higher, even if your first language is English or French;
  • Be well trained and equipped for the job, and have at least 12 months of relevant work experience

  • Account or advisory report of NNAS (National Nursing Assessment Service) is not required but is an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, patience, and passion for helping others. 
  • Ability to solve problems and successfully navigate stressful situations.
  • High efficiency, accuracy, and sensitivity to client needs.
