Personal Support Worker, Canada | Work Visa Sponsorship

A Toronto, Canada-based long-term care facility needs foreign Personal Support Workers. Candidates must be polite, kind, and dedicated to exhibiting care best practices, following all standards and procedures guiding in-home care under the supervision of medical practitioners.

Duties

  • Assisting residents with personal and bedside care like eating meals (including special diets), hygiene, dressing, health condition monitoring and reporting to the Care Manager, medication administration, transportation, etc.
  • Housekeeping tasks, including making beds, cleaning, and arranging facility areas. 
  • If required, carry out health-related tasks such as changing wound dressings or specimen collection (supervised by a Registered Nurse).
  • Provision of palliative care and social/emotional support for residents and families 
  • Liaising effectively with interdisciplinary teams to fulfill residents’ needs.

Qualifications

  • Acceptable qualifications include a Personal Support Worker program diploma or certificate deemed acceptable by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities, the Ontario Community Support Association, or the National Association of Career Colleges.
  • Certificate in First Aid and CPR
  • Minimum of 1 year of similar working experience
  • Proficiency in the English Language 
  • Good competency in documentation and care planning systems
  • Effective communication and interpersonal relations with residents, families, and colleagues
  • Strong passion for quality care provision.
