A transportation company currently wants five international moving truck drivers in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, for a full-time position. The most qualified candidates are straight-body truck drivers with a valid Class 3 or D license or an equivalent qualification. The company will also provide on-the-job training.
Duties
- Drive and operate trucks on designated Canadian routes
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of all goods, including furniture, paperwork, equipment, and delicate interiors in the trailer
- Prepare the list of loaded property for pickup by preparing an itemized condition report and padding the load
- Ensure that the van and trailer are in good functioning order by conducting inspections before, during, and after trips, as well as correspondent reports for post-trips
- Maintain a daily and weekly log for oneself and a co-driver (if applicable), detailing the cargo and loads, gasoline used, service hours, etc.
- Put together all the necessary documents and report to the manager for validation and quality control.
- Interact every day with the warehouse and dispatch teams to guarantee efficient transit and storage of property
- Communicate with clients and other recipients during loading and unloading to guarantee prompt delivery of the property
- Conform to safety regulations and strictly comply with all traffic laws in adherence to the Ministry of Transportation’s rules and regulations
Qualifications
- Driving straight-body trucks or an equivalent requires a Class 3 or D license that is in good standing;
- Knowledge and comprehension of logistics and transportation processes
- Understanding of GPS and other navigational aids
- Capacity to handle weights of up to 100 pounds
- Proficiency in the English language and strong customer service abilities
- Prior experience is a plus but not necessary because on-the-job training is offered
- Formal education is not required
Benefits
- This is a temporary full-time position with a minimum of 30 working hours each week.
- Hourly compensation of $24.10 and overtime rate of 1.5 of your hourly rate after 44 hours per week

Working conditions: early morning, during the day, at night, and on weekends.
